In July of 2024, many high school students are taking a trip to Italy with Guyer High School teacher Stephine Long. This trip will be an exciting experience of learning and adventure. This visit to Italy will give students a background of what it feels like to travel while teaching them many new discoveries about Italy and its history. This trip is for students of any age who go to Guyer High School.
¨We will be visiting the Colosseum and the Papal Palace along with St. Peter’s Basilica, Marmore Falls, and the Trevi Fountain,¨ Long said.
Long has worked very hard and prepared for this trip to the best of her abilities. She has done a good job at finding activities to keep the students engaged and entertained throughout the whole experience. These places have been specifically chosen to keep them interested. Not only that, but she has taken into account her students’ opinions.
¨I have tried my best to incorporate my student’s preferences by giving them options for what we will be doing there,” Stephanie Long said.
She has provided each student with a slip of paper with a checklist of their preferences and many choices. This is showing how she really cares about her students and what they like. As well, she has set this trip up for it to be available to all students and not just the people in her classes.
¨I knew that I wanted to return someday with students so that they could experience the food, beauty, architecture, and culture firsthand,”Long said
She has tried her best to make this an inclusive and all-around fun trip for high school students of all ages. One of the students that is going on the trip is very excited.
Emma Shackelford, a student participating in the Italy trip said ¨I can’t wait for this trip. I’m thrilled that we get the opportunity to be able to do this. Mrs.Long has done an amazing job at spreading the information about the trip to us.¨
Overall, all of the students have been informed and notified about the trip very well. There have been frequent meetings and emails sent by Long herself to parents and students. There have been constant reminders about when the due dates are. However, she is very lenient with those due to some students not being able to get them to her. These meetings give all of the information needed to be well prepared for this trip.

She is very grateful to be able to be a part of this amazing journey
