Friendship, a core foundation of human life, is one of the most important things to ever be. Is friendship permanent, or is it a temporary thing that makes you happy for a short time before it ends? Friendship should last a lifetime and is a commitment worth making.
Friend circles, a group of good friends who consistently have each other’s backs. A friend is someone who is always there for you and will be there for you when you most need them. Guyer High School has a multitude of them.
“Maybe someone isn’t free; most likely, another person will be free. It also creates a nice environment, being able to relate and have the same humor is always great,” a loyal friend to all and someone who always shows compassion, Taka Koga said.
Everyone has a different meaning of what friendship is and how it affects them and others around them.
“Friendship is who you choose to be in your life. It’s difficult to always make the right choices, but friendship is just as valuable as any other relationship,” Koga said when asked what friendship is and what it means to him.
Friends are meant to consistently have your back and keep you company, which is what makes it so important.
“My friends have always had my back, if anything. They’ve always been there for me, they’ve always been on my side, no matter what.” Sophomore at Guyer High School who finds himself always trying to meet new people and make friends, Nathan Compton, said.
Good friend groups have multiple different attributes that make them so good, which keep them healthy and create a safe environment.
“Trust, honesty, loyalty, just knowing your friends have your back no matter what, and that they’ll never turn on you,” Compton said.
It’s important to stay true to your friends and stay loyal. A friendship, even a friend group, is placed and formed to be a place of positivity and kindness towards everyone. It’s meant to be an accepting environment where all feel welcome and all are willing to join and communicate with.
The students at Guyer High School have adapted these truths and have applied them to themselves and their friend groups, which have spread across the entire school.
“Friendship is being able to know that and have a fun relationship with someone or multiple people,” a kind and nice friend to all whom he interacts with, Jack Terzo said.
