Whether it be trick or treating or staying home and watching horror movies, Halloween is still widely celebrated across Guyer High School. Entering the new spooky season, students are preparing for the 31st, making plans to go out with friends, or go take more than one candy from someone’s porch.
“I’m celebrating Halloween by watching my niece and nephews go trick or treating,” says Jaxx Gates.
Even if someone isn’t trick-or-treating themselves, they can still have the joy of going out around the neighborhood and seeing all the other people in their costumes and spending time with family.
“Halloween isn’t about the candy, it’s about people bonding by being able to be something they normally aren’t, so that’s why I want to spend it with my family, rather than myself,” said Gates.
Now, not every student goes trick-or-treating. Some students find it fun to spend time with friends at home or at a haunted house.
“I’m going to the Guyer football game to sign the national anthem,” said Kayla Christian.
Halloween isn’t just a holiday; to some people, it can hold a special place in someone’s heart as cherished memories or an example of how fun going outside or watching horror movies can really be.
“Me and my girlfriend are going to stay home and enjoy spending time with each other while watching Halloween movies and maybe doing some face paint,” said Collin Child.
Whether it’s dressing up, cheering under the Friday night lights, or cozying up with a scary movie, Halloween proves there’s no wrong way to enjoy a little spooky season magic.
