Committed Guyer Football Player
On Wednesday, February 7, Guyer High School seniors went to the gymnasium before school for signing day. Here, seven football players committed to their respective colleges. The signees were very encouraging and had lots of smiles on their faces.
There were 11 athletes in total to commit. They play Softball, Cross Country, Football and Volleyball. This event seemed to be a great opportunity for these athletes to fully commit to a college with a letter of intent along with being celebrated by friends and family.
Guyer had two players commit to Evangel University, a college in Missouri. This was the only “duo” to commit to a college in football. Their names are Logan McGlaughlin, and Isaiah Davis. McGlaughlin, QB and Isaiah, C are very excited to continue their football journeys.
“It’s nice just getting the chance to be here, knowing that I can go to the next level,“ McGlaughlin said.
four Players committed out of state, including Isaiah Davis and Logan McGlaughlin. The other two were Alexis Alvarez and Trey Joyner. Alvarez signed to Snow College, while Joyner signed to Southern Arkansas, the two others committed to colleges in Utah, and Arkansas. Everyone seemed to be excited and ready for their “new lives” to start. These were really notable because without a scholarship, prices for colleges out of state are beyond high.
“Going to a four year university, and exploring my new life, is just exciting.,” Isaiah Davis said.
Overall, the signings were great representations of Guyer Football. These signings catch the attention of scouts of these respective colleges and lead to more future offers to future Guyer Football players. Former Guyer Quarterback Jackson Arnold is set to be the starting quarterback at Oklahoma University in 2024. This is a result of a successful signing from a previous player at signing day. Most athletes often mention Jackson Arnold and he seems to inspire them.
