The Texas district baseball season has started which means the playoffs are coming up soon on May 4 and so far the Guyer Baseball team is last in the district. They might have had a rough start to the season but luckily there are plenty of games to turn it around with the remaining schedule.
They are on a three-game losing streak after their 3-7 loss on Tuesday, March 19, against Little Elm High School. So far the team is 0-3 in the district, but with the amount of games they have left a great record is very possible.
“We can definitely make a good run if we keep doing the little things right, practicing at any time we get, and have a winning attitude,” said Guyer Baseball player, Blake Linn.
Currently the team is working on getting back on track to make the playoffs. They can’t be looking toward the playoffs until they catch back up. They only have 11 games left until then.
“This season has been going by fast, and so far we are focusing on our next game, and not a game that we might not even make,” said Linn.
Teams want to make playoffs not only because they get to brag about their team’s success that season, but also because high school baseball playoffs are a thrilling time where teams compete for the championship title. It’s a chance for players to showcase their skills and for fans to cheer on their favorite teams.
“There are so many different reasons to be excited for baseball playoffs especially in Texas because there’s something different about Texas sports,” said Guyer Baseball player Harrison Marrony.
The Texas baseball playoffs are right around the corner so we will see if Guyer can turn their season around and have a huge playoff run this year. Here is the Guyer Baseball website so you can stay up to date.
