Spring Break, a Taste Of Summer

As winter comes to an end and spring break is just around the corner, students are excitedly planning what to do during the week off while teachers are looking forward to well-deserved time off.

Spring break sparks excitement across the nation as students and teachers are counting down the days until a vacation finally arrives. The only question everyone is wondering is: what Guyer students and teachers are doing over spring break?

Most students have time to relax during spring break, taking some time for themselves or hanging out with friends, but not all students and teachers are able to.

“Baseball players never get a spring break,” Mike Weatherford, a long-term coach and teacher, said.

As Weatherford explained, some students, coaches, and teachers never get a free spring
break because their activity does not allow it. There are ups and downs to that experience,
however there are many other ways a student can spend spring break.

“I’m looking forward to sleeping more during the break,” junior Addy Galindo said.

There is a lot of variety at Guyer when it comes to what students and teachers are doing during spring break, but one thing is for sure, everyone is excited for the time off from school.

“We’re going to be playing baseball over spring break. If we’re not practicing baseball, we’re
playing it,” Weatherford said.

While the baseball team is working for a championship, some students are looking forward to
having a long, relaxing vacation.

“I’m excited to hang out with my friends and get caught up on sleep,” freshman Olivia Green said.

Many students and teachers are staying in town during spring break; however, students love
traveling as well.

“If you have the means to go down to the coast in Texas or if you have the means to catch a
plane, there’s lots of beaches you could fly to during spring break,” Weatherford said.

It is a popular idea to go to the beach during spring break. Going to the beach or lakes can give them a sweet taste of summer.

“I’m excited to see my family in California,” freshman Victoria Verboon said.

From visiting family, practicing a sport, or traveling while on vacation, people are looking
forward to a vacation worth remembering.

“I’m most excited for a cruise I am taking during spring break down by Mexico,” Wesley Elmer said.
